What is your Mission Statement?  People helping people create safety and stability for themselves and those around them.

Who are you?

We are Rising Passions Resource Center. While we have just started fund raising, we have been in the Des Moines Metro Area and helping people worldwide for several years.

About Us

Our Mission Statement: People helping people create safety and stability for themselves and those around them.

There are nearly 50 million food insecure people in our nation alone. We are currently working with U.S. veterans, refugees, young adults without support systems and local non profits in order to help connect resources to those who are in transition. For the last 4 years Rising Passions Resource Center has prevented about 10,000 pounds of food per month from ending up in landfills and this is just a drop in the bucket.

We continue to have more food then space and need a location for a distribution center; not working out of a truck. Most loads are between 1000 to 2000 pounds (We never know the contents until we pick them up; usually it’s 80% proteins.)

We have been delivering food at least twice a month to different Non Profit Organizations free of charge and we want to continue to support each other.

· We are raising money for a site, so in the future you will be able to shop according to your specific needs.

· Our dream is to have a low income grocery store to support not just nonprofit organizations but also the people they serve.

· The day-to-day operations of the food pantry and food transportation will be run by US veterans and others in transition; creating safety and stability.

· Our next step is creating a 'one stop' community center and living complex for U.S. veterans others in transition that are struggling to find work, healthcare and resources to integrate back into the workforce.

Our Current Needs...

· A Refrigerated Truck

· Building Space with Loading Dock & Freezers

· Volunteers who know NPO Fund Raising, Organizational Skills, Social Media Skills or Tax & Accounting Services

Who we are: Rising Passions Resource Center is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) that seeks to reduce the burden of poverty by connecting people and resources. There are many parts to Rising Passions, but they all meet the criteria of helping people find support towards their goals.

This is an Organization with big Goals and Awesome Dreams. We need YOU to help make those goals and dreams possible.

What We Are…

The core of Rising Passions is to help clients work towards a professional development goal, while providing economic support in the area of bill-paying, transportation, food, healthcare, etc. This will include many working departments, supervisors who will form mentoring relationships with clients, and co-volunteers who act as peer support. The organization will also have coaches and counselors on site, since emotional, relational, and mental health is a vital part of development.

We have already been working in the Des Moines Metro Communities helping people get the resources they need. Our main focus has been working with U.S. Veterans, Refuges, local food pantries and helping connect resources to those who are in transition.

What We Do...

There are no economic criteria for becoming a client at Rising Passions. The target groups are those transitioning out of poverty and those beginning to transition into poverty, but not yet qualifying for certain

types of support. However, any person who believes they would benefit from involvement with Rising Passions, and is committed to working towards their success, is welcome.

Food Rescue...

We prevent over 10,000 lbs of food per month from ending up in landfills; we get food from donors and transport it to local food banks and homeless (such as the U.S. Veteran who his volunteering in the photo above).

Next Step...

To create a ‘Goodwill’ Grocery Store. This will be a fundraising space for individuals and Non Profit Partners working to better themselves.
